AI for Girls is a specialized educational incubator designed to build artificial intelligence and programming skills among female secondary and post-secondary students in Uzbekistan. Launched on September 19 at IT Park Tashkent, the program was developed in partnership with ITSM under the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications Development, and Bahçeşehir University of Turkey, bringing together national policy commitment and international academic expertise in a single, targeted initiative. The program was designed with a clear and deliberate focus: young women aged 14 to 18, selected through a competitive registration process that required demonstrated knowledge of basic programming, Scratch, and English. This selective approach was intentional. Rather than a broad awareness campaign, AI for Girls was built as a high-standard learning experience for students who were ready to go further, giving them the intensive, expert-led instruction that would genuinely advance their skills and confidence in the field. Over three days of immersive in-person training at IT Park, participants engaged in masterclasses delivered by specialists from Bahçeşehir University, covering AI fundamentals, the types and applications of artificial intelligence, and its role in everyday life and the future of work. The program was not just instructionally rich—the setting itself carried meaning. Placing selected young women inside one of Uzbekistan's most prominent technology environments sent a clear message about who belongs in these spaces. AI for Girls is a direct expression of Uzbekistan's broader state policy commitment to expanding women's and girls' literacy, participation, and leadership in technology and public life. It establishes a concrete, replicable model for gender-focused AI education, one that combines rigorous selection, international instruction, and institutional backing to create something more lasting than a one-time event: a pipeline of young women who see themselves as the next generation of AI innovators in Uzbekistan.
